Will you find the truth – no matter the cost?

Sam Higgs left his hometown, and everyone he knows, behind two years ago.
But the death of his best friend Nick calls the former investigative journalist back to confront the town’s troubled past—and his own.

He soon becomes drawn into a dangerous web of intrigue as all is not as it seems in the small town of Basswood, West Virginia…

Remember, reflect, reveal
Explore Sam’s unique and analytical ways in his expansive Mind Palace, where you can revisit his past, relive old memories, and reconstruct events. There, you can go through possible scenarios, envision how things could’ve gone, and follow the clues to your next lead. Be careful, though—the Mind Palace is a reflection of Sam’s state of mind, for better or worse.
The Twin Mirror
You can also speak with your Double, who is the more social and empathic side of yourself that nobody else can see. You must navigate the dangers of Sam’s conflicted thoughts and feelings together: will your Double become a trusted confidante or an unwelcome guest?
Choose your path
In Twin Mirror, every decision you make alters the course of your investigation, as well as your relationships in Basswood. Trust others or rely only on yourself in your hunt for the truth. But no matter your choices, your story is yours. Take a look in the mirror—what will you see?

Sam

1

A former investigative journalist, Sam has an unusually analytical mind. Its unique abilities take the form of a multifaceted Mind Palace. It’s this unique mind that can lead him to dissociate from the social arena, where his logical, analytical personality sometimes hurts those around him. However, Sam can count on help from the Double, a more empathic and sociable version of himself that only he can see. This ally is there to guide him and help him blend into a society that sometimes rejects the unorthodox. Through these human qualities the Double is able to offer Sam an alternative when he needs to make important decisions.

Joan

1

Joan is a smart teenager, independent and very mature for her age. She tries to keep her emotions to herself because she can’t stand the hypocrisy of the adults around her. She loves graphic novels and cycling, and she would like to study insects because she finds them fascinating. She’s very angry at Sam, her godfather, for leaving town and not being in touch for years. Rocked by her father’s recent death, will she be able to forgive Sam for not being there?

Anna

1

Anna is a freelance journalist at Basswood Jungle, the local newspaper. She’s an independent woman with a strong moral compass. Also from Basswood, she cares about people and is an activist for causes that matter to her. She once had a love affair with Sam but left him several years ago. Like Sam, she’ll do anything to solve the mystery around the death of Nick, with whom she had recently been in a relationship.

Nick

Nick, aged 35 when he died, was Sam’s best friend. Determined, meticulous, and passionate about his work as a journalist, his recent discoveries had led him to become increasingly distant from girlfriend Anna and daughter Joan. His tragic death raises many questions…
